Nick is a Montana native through and through. Born at St. John’s Hospital in 1965, he grew up in Helena, went through the public school system, and graduated from Capital High School in 1984 (yes, he’s a Bruin!). His football award can still be seen on the display wall at Capital High—for the school’s longest kick return: 97 yards.

Nick married his wife Kristine (a Michigander), and together they raised six children—five sons and one daughter—in Helena. To provide for his family, Nick opened a small mattress business called Beds2Go, which he ran for many years. Today, most of his kids are grown and are working in Helena, except for his youngest, who’s still in high school. Currently Nick serves as a consultant for a local energy business and pastors a Sunday school class at his church.

So why is he running? As a lifelong Helena resident, Nick believes he’s the best person to represent his district and be a voice for his community. He’s raised his family here, built friendships, and started a business to serve the people of Helena. Like many locals, he’s felt the impact of good and bad policies coming out of the legislature—especially when it comes to property taxes, judicial reform, our children’s education, energy prices, and more. He’s running in solidarity with his community, determined to give back to Helena the same way Helena has given to him.

Nick Lancette is a true lifelong conservative. To him, the sanctity of life is of prime importance. He believes parents—not bureaucrats—should raise their children, that there are men and women and we shouldn’t pretend otherwise, and that taxes should never punish people for working hard. He’s not a career politician—he’s the real Helena deal. And when he says he’ll do what’s best for this community, you believe him—because this is his home.
